I'm Beat!

I am so tired I can hardly see straight.  And I have a feeling this post is going to be even worse than my posts usually are but at least you guys will get a little update.  So here goes.

Today's mission was to look into daycare options for Alessandra.  You see, I can't start taking German classes at the language school until I have daycare lined up for my little Sweet Pea.  So I got the ball rolling because I really want to be able to eves drop on the tram.  ;o)

There is a daycare right around the corner which would be so convenient.  I made a few calls today and discovered that they are an exclusive bilingual daycare and they actually have an opening.  The weird thing was that the daycare provider told me she would have to get approval from the parents to bring Alessandra in, which I thought was pretty strange, but then again that just may be how they do it here.  Anywho, I called and found out that it would be about 600 euro a month.

WHAT!?!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!

This seems a bit on the pricey side.  I'm hoping for that price that there is some sort of guarantee that Alessandra would be fluent in English and German by 2 while already having a solid grasp of fine art, ballet, and chemical engineering.

So what do you think?  Is this about right, or is it way to expensive? How much do you, or the people you know, pay for daycare?

With that I'm headed to bed - actually I'm already lying in bed but I'm going to shut down the computer now and go to sleep.

Later Spater Alligator!!!

  1. And she should at least be a PhD candidate in something for sure!  That's horrible but what do I know about current daycare prices--I'm so outdated in that I wouldn't have a clue.  Maybe by the time you get to check out other German options you will know what you are in for.  It does sound very convenient and amazing that other parents get to "choose" who they kids' fellow daycarees are (that's my new word).  Good luck!!!

  3. That does seem really expensive! Is that for full time care or part time? How are you feeling about the whole daycare thing?  I imagine that will be hard for you!! Lots of love!

  4. For her age it's right around what you would pay here for a decent daycare fulltime. It's nice that it's a community (sounds like anyway) and that it's biligual so you will have to take things like that into consideration. I hope you get in! Good luck
